Dr. Tresmaine R. Grimes is a native New Yorker who was born and raised in New York City. She received a Bachelors degree with in Afro American Studies and Psychology from Yale University; a Master of Arts in Psychology from the New School for Social Research; and the Master and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr. Grimes has served in a number of roles in higher education, including faculty member, department chair, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Vice President for Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty. Currently, Dr. Grimes serves as Dean of the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education at Pace University in New York. She has been actively involved in numerous professional organizations over the years, and has been published in peer-reviewed books and journals. She is deeply committed to developing pathways for access to higher education, especially for underrepresented groups, ethnic minorities, and first generation college students.
